Hello and welcome to our page, Infertility Journey. I decided to set this page up, so I could share my story and tell you about out journey through infertility. We hope that as you read through our blogs, you can learn a little bit more about our perspective of infertility. I also set this page up for myself, I guess I felt it would help me as I go through this journey. I wanted to document my feelings and also share with you, things that I have learnt along the way.
My name is Ruth and my husband is called Paul. We met back in 2005 in Dublin city, where my husband is from. We are both now living in the UK together and we got married in 2009. We set off travelling around the world for a year in 2010. We were lucky enough to visit India, Singapore, Bali, Thailand, Cambodia, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Ecuador, Peru and Argentina. We had the most amazing time and learnt so much about the world, different cultures and each other. We decided when we came home that we wanted to be open to starting a family. So we just decided to stop using contraception and let it happen in it's own time. After a year of trying, we decided to investigate and here we are 4 years later with no answer to why we haven't been able to conceive.
So just a little background into us both
I am a very outgoing, sociable, confident person. I love travelling and going to new places. I love the feeling of going to a new place and exploring it for the first time. I also love music. I love to sing, write songs, play the guitar and I also play the flute. The places that I feel most happy are when I'm on the stage performing, at the theatre, travelling and when I'm surrounded by people I love. I currently run a business from home. I see myself as a bit of a entrepreneur. I set up my first business when I came home from travelling called Dusty Spring Clean. I now run several online businesses. I enjoy seeing the results that come when effort and determination are put in. My dream job would be to be a songwriter. I also dream of singing on the west end!
Paul is what I would call a quietly confident person. He is quiet in group settings and may come across to new people as shy. Inside though, he is a very comfortable person. He is highly intelligent (I'm not just being biased) and he has the mind to be able to solve problems very quickly. He has a degree in engineering. He graduated at Dublin City University in 2007. He is now working for a Drupal company as a Web Developer. He works from home, for a London company. Paul is always working on something. I am sure he will invent something one day soon! Paul also loves the outdoors. He loves walking, travelling, listening to music, fixing things and anything technical.
We hope you enjoy reading through our blogs and following our journey. For updates you can sign up for our newsletter. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We wish you all the best on your journey and hope like we hope for ourself that we will get a BFP very soon!
